Portuguese Negrinha do Douro Olives - tree-ripened whole olives with garlic and oregano. Indigenous olive variety, unique to Portugal, from the Douro Valley region. Harvested when turning colour and preserved naturally in brine, then split before adding garlic and oregano. Firm, robust and garlicky. A staple of the Mediterranean diet, proven to decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease by up to 40%.
